When Agnes took phone calls from interested residents, she gauged their interest in a calendar project. The more she spoke with them, the more interested they became in starring in the Cherry Hill, New Jersey, community’s first resident calendar.
As plans for creating the calendar were discussed, a musical theme was created. Each calendar page would feature residents as the stars of some of the best musicals of all time: “My Fair Lady,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Sound of Music,” “Porgy and Bess,” “Hello Dolly,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “West Side Story,” “Meet Me in St. Louis,” “The King & I,” “Grease,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” and “White Christmas” were all featured in the 2015 calendar.
“We had a lot of fun putting the calendar together,” said Agnes. “Our residents really get involved in the things that we do.”
Eighteen residents of Cadbury Senior Lifestyles, Cherry Hill, are featured in the 2015 calendar, which is already flying off of the shelves—more than 100 have already been ordered! The calendars are free with a $10 donation to the Friends of Cadbury Fund.
"It has been a delight watching how the 'Catch a Star at Cadbury' project went from concept to completion," said Anne-Marie Waxman, director of sales and marketing at Cadbury Senior Lifestyles, Cherry Hill. "The residents always have great enthusiasm and creativity in whatever they do. The calendar is just one of the many interesting endeavors our residents enjoy pursuing at Cadbury now that they have the time and freedom to do whatever inspires them."
