This expansion supports Cadbury at Cherry Hill’s goal to create an atmosphere that focuses on caring and facilitating healthy lives for residents. Cadbury at Cherry Hill Licensed Administrator Brian Klocke said, “Our residents were interested in having more options for their healthcare. This gives them the option to switch to an easily-accessible physician.” Many of the seniors at Cadbury at Cherry Hill have been traveling throughout South Jersey to get to their doctors’ appointments. By having a physicians group readily available, residents will have the convenience of on-site visits and a doctor who is never more than a phone call away. Furthermore, this addition removes the aggravation of coordinating transportation, traffic delays, delayed appointments and, even more importantly, provides residents with consistent care from compassionate doctors and nurses.
The warmly welcomed Maro Group Practice of Robert J. Maro Jr. and Associates is a multi-generational family business. “My father opened the practice in 1961,” Dr. Maro said. There are five physicians and three nurse practitioners, all led by Dr. Maro and looking forward to providing care for the residents at Cadbury at Cherry Hill. Dr. Maro is board certified in geriatrics and internal medicine, and has 30 years of experience. Over the course of his career, Dr. Maro has worked with hundreds of senior patients and believes in treating all his patients with respect, kindness and personal care.
“The most important thing I can give people is information,” said Dr. Maro. By enabling his patients to be informed, Dr. Maro puts the power of healthier decisions in the hands of every person he sees. “I give you the information you need to make an informed decision,” he further explained. “Patients can always reach us—24/7—by calling my office,” said Dr. Maro. “Pick up the phone and I’ll give you whatever information I can.” Dr. Maro is certainly the kind of physician that talks with you, instead of at you, and thereby guides his patients to the best possible solution for their health needs.
Dr. Maro recommends to all his senior patients: “Whatever you do, stay mentally and physically active.” To Dr. Maro that means watching less television, which is mentally and physically passive, and instead performing more stimulating activities such as conversing with others or going for a walk. Even reading a book is more engaging than television. He also believes that seniors who live with other people, especially in communities such as Cadbury at Cherry Hill, help keep their cognitive development from declining as quickly. This in turn can potentially delay or even prevent the onset of diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. “If you don’t use it, you lose it,” Dr. Maro further reiterated.
As Dr. Maro and his team join Cadbury at Cherry Hill, residents and their families are encouraged to reach out and ask any questions they may have about the new and improved care that will be available. This Friday, September 19th, Cadbury at Cherry Hill is hosting a brunch for everyone to meet Dr. Maro and see for themselves the positive difference he will make in the lives of their residents.
Mr. Klocke communicated everyone’s happiness at this new partnership by saying, “We are thrilled to have someone with Dr. Maro’s experience and look forward to having him join the team at Cadbury at Cherry Hill.”
