Cadbury at Cherry Hill |
Cadbury has a long history in the community of South
Jersey. In the late 1970s, members of
the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)
were interested in creating a continuing care retirement community for
individuals of modest means. They
received a certificate of incorporation for a new corporation, named Friends
Manor, in September of 1977. Shortly
thereafter, the name of the organization was formally changed to Cadbury
Corporation, after Henry Joel Cadbury, a well-renowned Quaker historian,
scholar, and non-profit administrator.
Cadbury is one of the few CCRCs to offer true Lifecare. Lifecare essentially means that a resident
moves into the community for an initial fee and an affordable monthly rate and
that monthly rate remains the same, even as his or her health needs change and
they move to different levels of care within the community. With our model in
place, we are able to offer supreme financial, emotional, and medical peace of
mind that many stand-alone independent living and assisted living communities
cannot.
